Middle school students will start and end the day in homeroom. This is their home base, where the day begins with prayer and important announcements are made.
In 7th grade, students continue developing more ownership over academic performance. They are expected to earn service hours in preparation for Confirmation as well as in application to the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS).
In 8th grade, students truly lead at SOSM. They overtly lead students in student council, Mass, athletics, school-wide traditions, and preparation for Confirmation. Academically, 8th graders prepare for high school placement. Several cherished traditions, including a graduation Mass, bring the 8th grade class together as a faith community as students prepare for the next chapter in high school.
