PGC Drop-Off & Pick-up Procedures

Important Parking Lot Rules

No passing cars in the line, no matter the wait.
  1. Respect the guidance of the crossing guard/traffic director.
  2. Curbside drop-off drivers must remain in their vehicles.
  3. Note the new route through the PGC parking lot (see diagram below).

PGC Arrival Procedures

  • Students should begin to arrive at 8:30 a.m., and classes begin at 8:50 a.m.
  • Vehicles must enter the PGC parking lot through the entrance to St. Patrick Church on Everett Road.
  • Drivers should follow the north perimeter of the PGC parking lot and proceed to the curb in front of the PGC.
  • Staff along the curb will help direct both cars and students.
  • Parents of two and three-year-old students should proceed around the perimeter of the lot, turning right to park in the spaces on the southern boundary of the parking lot. Drivers must park, exit their vehicle with the student, and walk to the Early Childhood fence. They should enter the Early Childhood playground via the stepping stones.
Teachers will await their students at the playground doors of their classrooms to welcome them. Once your child has entered the classroom, parents should return to their vehicles and exit the parking lot by turning right and merging with the traffic from the curb.
  • Parents of four-year-old students may drop their child at the curb if the student is comfortable walking to the Early Childhood or south door of the school.
    • Parents may also park their vehicles in the center parking spaces of the lot and escort their child to the south or Early Childhood door.
    • Once the child has entered the hallway to meet their teacher, the parent should return to their vehicle and exit the parking lot by turning right and merging with the traffic from the curb.
  • First, second, and third graders should exit their car at the curb and enter the school through the north doors or gym wing.  They will proceed directly to their respective classrooms.
  • Kindergartners should exit vehicles along the curb and proceed to the center entrance of the school, where they will be directed to their respective classrooms by a staff member.

PGC Dismissal Procedures:

  • Vehicles must display a family identification number on the dashboard where it is easily visible (e.g., a bright-colored card with a letter and digits).
Any person picking up your child must be on your authorized list and have a carpool code.  We can print extra codes in the office for grandparents, nannies, etc.
  • Vehicles must enter the PGC parking lot through the entrance to St. Patrick Church on Everett Road.
  • Traffic will process along the north perimeter of the PGC parking lot and proceed to the curb in front of the PGC.
  • A staff member will relay the family identification number of the vehicle to indoor supervisors.
  • Staff members will escort students out of their cohort doors and bring them to their family vehicles along the curb.
  • Please be patient while students enter their cars, and do not pass cars in front of your vehicle.
  • Parents may pull to the side when their vehicle reaches the end of the curb and stop to assist children who cannot buckle themselves in car seats.
Thank you for your cooperation and compliance as we work through these new procedures. Do not hesitate to contact the school office or your child’s teacher if you have any questions.
