Little Angels

2-year-old Preschool

Little Angels is the ideal introduction for both parent and child to formal socializing and learning. Its play-based curriculum is driven by children's interests in the classroom. Lessons and centers incorporate literacy, literature, math, science, arts, and social-emotional intentionally into playtime, small group work, classroom meetings, and ongoing projects both in the classroom and outdoors.

Little Angels offers a 4:1 student-to-teacher ratio with a play-based curriculum. Teachers maintain a consistent schedule from day to day, so children develop a sense of routine and predictability while forming a close classroom community. Positive relationships between students and their teachers evolve through the year. In conjunction with a skilled teacher, the aides assist with verbal communication to foster the process of learning to take turns, share resources, solving conflicts, and assisting friends. As the children grow and mature, they expand their friendships, play centers, and independence. There is an observable change in autonomy and mastery of classroom routines over the course of the year.

Teachers remain in close contact with parents through daily pickup and dropoff and written communication. Parents form a partnership with the teacher to enhance each child's strengths and build a solid foundation for future learning.

The Little Angels team will create a warm, nurturing, and safe environment for your child to further develop curiosity and comfort with others. The days will be filled with celebrations, glitter, laughter, and joy!

Why Start Preschool at two?

Many parents question why they should start preschool at two? What skills will their children possess that they can't get at a typical daycare program? While you may associate school with academic learning, our early childhood teachers focus more on social and emotional development. After a year of Little Angels, your child will begin to:
  • Easily separate from parents
  • Develop trusting relationships with adults outside their family
  • Reveal independence in executing age-appropriate tasks
  • Execute self-skills
  • Display an interest in participating in activities and projects
  • Follow simple instructions
  • Focus on a task or attended a group discussion for an age-appropriate period of time
  • Exhibit some empathy for others
  • Communicate while employing a constantly expanding vocabulary
  • Seek assistance when needed
  • Understand and follow basic routines
Families can help build a foundation for learning in the preschool years that will benefit children through elementary school.
