The Heart of a Crusader Award recognizes students who exemplify our Crusader Creed values—respect, honesty, and responsibility—and who lead with faith, service, and integrity. These individuals inspire us all through their character, leadership, and dedication to others.
Honorees are listed in alphabetical order.
Andy demonstrates exceptional service, leadership, and responsibility by volunteering his time to support the school community with warmth, initiative, and a spirit well beyond his years. His nominator said, “Although Andy wasn't old enough to play sports for St. Mary's, he wholeheartedly wanted to be part of the experience. During games, Andy volunteered his time to help with concessions, warmly greeting families from both St. Mary's and visiting schools, and doing whatever he could to improve the experience for everyone. Whether fetching snacks, sweeping the stands, or directing guests to the restrooms, Andy consistently stepped up in ways that exceeded expectations for his age. He embodied the spirit of a crusader, demonstrating quiet leadership and selfless service.”
CJ exemplifies respect, leadership, and responsibility by consistently serving others with kindness, inspiring his peers through collaboration, and representing the School of St. Mary with outstanding character and care. His nominator said, "He serves by holding doors for his classmates, teachers, and staff EVERY SINGLE DAY!" On a recent trip, he walked alongside our guide, engaging with him about whatever the topic was at the moment.
Caroline exemplifies learning, respect, and responsibility by consistently putting forth her best effort, treating others with kindness, and approaching each day with dedication and care.
James lives out respect, honesty, and responsibility through his genuine care for others, thoughtful maturity, strong faith, and consistent example of integrity in both words and actions. He’s intentional in how he greets people and engages in conversation. His nominator said, “Between classes, he always says hello and asks how my day is.”
TJ exemplifies learning and leadership by consistently offering help, advocating for others with kindness, and serving as a positive role model in the classroom. His nominator said, He is always ready to assist in any way possible in the classroom, from helping with technical issues on the whiteboard to politely advocating for others.
