Every parent/guardian of a School of St. Mary student is a member of the Parents Association, and we hope you’ll join us in building our community, volunteering, and supporting the Annual Crusader Fund.

Join the School of St. Mary (SOSM) admissions team to explore the middle school years through the lens of faith and a a strong emphasis on preparation for both high school and life in our hectic changing world. 

We will present the SOSM approach to teaching, provide classroom highlights, review a typical middle school schedule, and discuss how our students learn about their lives in the context of greater communities. There will be time at the end for questions. 

Current families seeing more information about next year, families considering an immediate transfer, and new families thinking about changing schools for the 2025-2026 school year are all welcome to join us. 

No registration or reservations are necessary; jump on when you can and leave when necessary.

Conferences will be offered by UGC (4th-8th grade) teachers beginning at 1:00 p.m.

We are excited to invite you to a special shopping event at Lillie Alexander in Lake Forest on February 18th from 5-7 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity to find that perfect gala outfit or add new pieces to your wardrobe while supporting the School of St. Mary.

15% of all event proceeds will go directly to the School of St. Mary. Your participation will not only help you look your best but also benefit our school community!

Students may wear Crusader Wear today with school-appropriate bottoms if they bring $1 to be donated to charity chosen by 6th Grade.


On Crusader Wear Days, students can wear any SOSM t-shirt, sweatshirt, or jersey with appropriate skirts, shorts, or pants. Skirts that come to 2 inches above the knee are the appropriate length. SOSM Pajama bottoms or sweats, athletic wear (not leggings), skirts, or jeans without holes may be worn. No Ugg's, slides, flip=flops, slippers, or fashion boots. 

Students who do not wish to participate should wear their uniforms.

Join the School of St. Mary (SOSM) admissions team to learn about Catholic education for elementary school in a Virtual Elementary School Information Session featuring grades 1st through 5th. Hear how we help children develop into contributing citizens of the world through strong academics and commitment to developing the whole child. Please drop-off and pick-up your child(ren) directly to/from the Gloria Dei Center

• PLEASE have your child(ren) eat lunch PRIOR to coming to the retreat.
• 12:30pm: Drop-Off your child(ren) directly to the Gloria Dei Center (see address above) at the Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart.
• 4:45pm: Families and Sponsors are welcome to join the group for Mass at the Gloria Dei Center. Mass will begin promptly at 5pm.
• 6:00pm: Pick-up your child(ren) at the Gloria Dei Center by 6pm. (If you are unable to join us for Mass, the retreat concludes with Mass)

Students are welcome to bring:

• Bible
• Reusable Water Bottle
• Cell phones/Electronics will be collected

Dress Code

We have had several families reach out to ask about the dress code for the retreat. Students are welcome to wear a comfortable outfit that meets the dress code of Religious Education and School of St. Mary (Casual Day), uniforms do not need to be worn. During the retreat our candidates will play games, sit on the floor for talks, be invited to pray in various spaces of the retreat center, and will only be allowed to go outside for fresh air (during break) if they have jackets. Please note that we will end the retreat with Mass and clothing should be appropriate for Mass. We encourage your child(ren) to dress in layers, it will be a cold day!

Specific items of apparel NOT allowed:

• Boys - may not wear low-rider pants with exposed shorts, hats or hoods while indoors. 
• Girls - short shorts/skirts, camis, tops that are strapless or that expose cleavage or bare midriffs. 

3rd Grade Move-Up Gym Night!

Rising 4th graders and their parents are invited to a special evening at the UGC gym with Coach Knotek! Students will have a blast playing games with their friends while getting comfortable in their new school building. Meanwhile, parents will have the opportunity to meet 4th-grade teachers Mrs. Phelps and Ms. Franco and learn more about what to expect next year.

Pizza will be served. This is not a drop-off event; parents will stay. We look forward to seeing you there!
