Dear Prospective Parents/Guardians:
We gladly welcome inquiries regarding St. Mary's exceptional Catholic school with its rich tradition of educating students to learn, to serve, and to lead. Our Catholic education community builds on the foundation of Catholic tradition by furthering excellence in education, a positive regard to each individual, and the transmission of Christian values.
As faculty, parents, and students themselves hold high expectations, we realize each student is unique, bringing different talents, interests, and learning styles to the community. We strive to provide students with a positive, student-centered learning environment that motivates them to actively plan and participate in their own learning.
While academic excellence is necessary in today's global environment, demonstrating one's values and commitments is the key to a successful and balanced life. We work daily to provide students the insights and strength to make such commitments and values for life.
Many families at the School of St. Mary have been part of our faith and learning community for more than a generation. Our graduates consistently and predictably report success in high school and college. Indeed, several valedictorians of both Lake Forest High School as well as Loyola Academy have graduated from the School of St. Mary.
Parental involvement is high. An active Parents’ Club raises well over $200,000 annually for school operations and improvements. The School Advisory Council, comprised of many subcommittees, assists with the school's short and long-range planning. Volunteer opportunities abound, allowing parents to become involved in many aspects of school operations, such as classroom activities, athletic coaching, and the annual Gala celebration.
We welcome your exploration of our state-of-the-art Catholic education community which is nearing its 100th year of educational excellence. We are glad to provide a tour (perhaps led by one of our Student Ambassadors), introduce you to a current family who can explain life at our school and let you speak with a teacher. We have much to share and we welcome your interest.
