Tuition

The 2008-2009 tuition cost for parishioners with students in grades 1-8 for one student is $4,465, two students $8,037, and three students $11,162.

The registration fee for 2008-2009 school year is $750, which is not refundable.

For returning families:

  • If registration was paid before February 28, 2008, $600 of this amount will be credited to 2008-2009 tuition.
  • If paid by March 15, 2008, $250 of this amount will be credited to 2008-2009 tuition.
  • If paid after March 15, 2008, no tuition credit will be applied.

For new families, $600 of the registration fee will be credited to tuition.

The expected cost for educating a student at School of St. Mary for 2008-2009 is over $6,400. Some of the difference is made up by the hard fund-raising work of the Parents Club including the annual Gala. The majority of the deficit is supplied by the parish. The current school budget is planning for a $605,000 subsidy from the parish. The subsidy is near the 20% maximum of what the Archdiocese allows the parish to contribute.

The price of excellence is costly. But, on the other hand, if you consider the cost of what you're getting — values for life for your children — the cost is less than the price of a babysitter on an hourly basis.   For example, consider these hourly rates for our early childhood programs for 2007-2008:

  • Three-year-old program (2 mornings per week)  $8.75/hour
  • Three-year-old program (3 mornings per week)  $8.10/hour
  • Four-year-old program (4 afternoons per week)  $7.29/hour
  • Four-year-old program (5 mornings per week)   $7.29/hour
  • Kindergarten (half-day: 5 mornings per week)  $6.12/hour
  • Kindergarten (full-day: 5 days per week)   $4.59/hour

For grades first through eighth:

  • One child: (full-day/5 days per week) $3.65/hour for parishioners; $5.26/hour for others
  • Two children: (full-day/5 days per week) $3.25/hr for parishioners; $5.26/hr for others
  • Three children: full-day/5 days per week) $2.69/hr for parishioners; $5.26 hr for others
